Thank God Gavin finally got his first tooth! He’s had symptoms of teething since he was 2 months old! Now, 7 months later, he’s got his first tooth and the second one is not far behind!
He’s had to work hard for this victory and it’s probably no coincidence that we read him my very favorite childhood book about a girl and her tooth last night. It’s called Airmail To The Moon. It was written by Tom Birdseye. Have you read it? It’s one fun book and it was super precious to see my husband reading my well loved (it’s even signed!) copy to our son!
Anyways, I guess it’s a good time to find him a dentist and help him learn to take care of all those beautiful teeth!
Sometimes teeth are no fun for anyone. Like…REALLY no fun. Thankfully, I have a few tricks that have worked really well for us!
Instead of turning to something we’d rather not be putting into our babes’ bodies, they can get some sweet relief from essential oils. For young babies, apply diluted Frankincense, Copaiba, or Orange to the gums and along the outside of the jaw line. You can also apply diluted lavender to the outside of the jaw for additional soothing.
For older children, you can use diluted Clove or Thieves on the gum and tooth area. These bring soothing comfort to your little ones so they are able to sleep great, eat and drink with ease, and feel like the happy little campers they are!
15 drops Frankincense
15 drops Orange
15 drops Copaiba
fill with coconut oil (or any other edible oil!)
Mix in a 2 OZ glass dropper bottle
Drop liberally onto your clean finger or a Q-Tip and apply where needed!
This works well for big kids and adults with braces, too!
