Seeing Gavin in this sleep sack sparks a lot of emotion for me. My mom brought it over one evening when I was pregnant after we had gotten news from the doctors that things with Gavin would not be what we thought and he would be facing some serious challenges. She brought several outfits over but this one stood out to me. As I held it up I saw an image of myself holding up my perfect baby. I knew that he was going to be exactly who he was meant to be and that he would be perfect for us no matter what that looked like! P.S. It’s funny because I really thought he would have dark hair and brown eyes but he actually looks identical to the way I saw him in my mind!
Loving this blend of Joy and Lemongrass in my diffuser today! This is one of my favorite times of the year and the fact that it’s almost time for our yearly tradition of get new fushias for our hanging baskets makes it that much better!
Well, I did it!! My husband wanted to finish our miles early, before we go on vacation next week so there was a bit of an additional rush and I’m just going to be honest, winters 100 miles were much more difficult than falls 100 miles. Ringing in 2018 with Gavin’s surgery, going back to work and then there is the fact that I just didn’t want too. Haha!
I ended up hating my new shoes for running because they hurt my feet. I think the sole was too chunky. They’re still great for everyday use but they are simply not the runners for me. I definitely had to make up some of my miles walking on the treadmill in the evenings. That took some determination considering I usually have a baby and dog and tow.
Then there was the rain. We got caught a few times but don’t worry, Gavin stayed dry!
Even though it was tough, all in all, I’d say it was totally worth it. My husband and also my friend Mary joined me in this challenge which really did bring some motivation and fun. However, I’m hoping springs miles feel a little easier! Who knows, maybe I’ll mix it up and add a little twist to for springs goal…
Thank God Gavin finally got his first tooth! He’s had symptoms of teething since he was 2 months old! Now, 7 months later, he’s got his first tooth and the second one is not far behind!
He’s had to work hard for this victory and it’s probably no coincidence that we read him my very favorite childhood book about a girl and her tooth last night. It’s called Airmail To The Moon. It was written by Tom Birdseye. Have you read it? It’s one fun book and it was super precious to see my husband reading my well loved (it’s even signed!) copy to our son!
Anyways, I guess it’s a good time to find him a dentist and help him learn to take care of all those beautiful teeth!
